Jason Fick- Music Technologist

I am a composer, collaborator, audio engineer, researcher, and educator actively working with music technology.  My recent creative work explores relationships between computer-influenced networks and human behaviors.  In particular, I am inspired by movement and have worked extensively with dance.  My compositions and intermedia have been featured at international, national, and local events, including the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), the International Horn Symposium, the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), the College Music Society, Electronic Music Midwest (EMM), The American Colleges Dance Festival, and programs sponsored by the Greater Denton Arts Council and the Eugene Composer’s Collective.  As an engineer, my projects have involved recording classical, jazz, experimental, and popular music in live and studio contexts.  My areas of research are in computer music, audio production, and the pedagogy of music technology.  I hold a Ph.D. in music composition from the University of North Texas and I am currently an assistant professor of music technology at Oregon State University.
